Chip and Crack Repair · Phoenix, AZ
We draw the air out of the break and fill it with a curable, optically matched resin. The strength comes back, the damage stops running, and under Arizona glass coverage it frequently costs you nothing.
Repair or Replace
Send a photo and we will tell you before you book
Not every break is repairable, and any shop that tells you otherwise is either guessing or selling. Three things decide it: how big the damage is, how far it has already run, and where it sits on the glass. Here is roughly how we call it, though we always look before committing to a number.
The classic rock strike with short legs radiating out. Almost always repairable if the legs have not started walking, which in a Phoenix summer means calling within days rather than weeks.
Clean circular or crescent impacts. These fill beautifully and usually leave only a faint mark you have to look for on purpose.
A bullseye with legs coming off it. Repairable more often than people expect, though the finished result depends a lot on how long it sat before you called.
Breaks within a couple of inches of the frame are the risky ones. That is where the glass carries the most stress, and edge cracks tend to run fast. Often a replacement call.
A repair leaves a small blemish. Directly in your view that is both a distraction and, under ARS 28-957.01, potentially a citation. We usually recommend replacing instead.
Once a crack has run more than a few inches, filling it does not restore enough strength to be worth doing. At that point the honest answer is new glass.
The Clock Is Real
A repair is minutes of work on a break the size of a dime. A replacement is new glass, new adhesive, a cure window, and often a camera recalibration on top. The gap between those two outcomes is frequently a single Phoenix summer, because heat is what turns a stable chip into a moving crack. Park on 115 degree asphalt, run the AC hard on the way home, and the inside and outside of the glass expand at different rates all afternoon.
Insurance treats the two differently as well. Many Arizona comprehensive policies cover a chip repair outright, because carriers would rather pay for the small job now than the large one later. That means a phone call today often costs you nothing at all, and every week you leave it, those odds shift.

While It Is Still Small
If it can be filled, we will say so and fill it. If it cannot, we will tell you that too rather than doing a repair that fails in August. Either way the assessment is free.
